Who Took the Cookies?

(Who Stole the Cookies?)
Jackie Silberg

Jackie Silberg shows fun ways to help young children develop language, musical, thinking, and transition skills in:

300 Three Minute Games: Quick and Easy Activities for 2-5 Year Olds

Start this game by telling a story. "Once upon a time was a jar full of cookies. One day, daddy went to get a cookie and they were all gone."

Then say the following poem:

Who took the cookies from the cookie jar?
Daddy took the cookies from the cookie jar.
Who me? Yes you.
Couldn’t be. Then who?

Repeat using your child’s name.

Keep saying the rhyme and name other members of the family, pets and people your child knows.

For example, "Who took the cookies from the cookie jar? Grandma took the cookies from the cookie jar."
